• Course Title: POCUS Abdominal Hands-On Training

This hands-on training provides practical experience in abdominal ultrasound with emphasis on FAST exam, renal evaluation, hepatic assessment, and fluid detection. Participants will perform real-time scans in a clinical environment.

Participants will: 

1. Perform FAST and E-FAST exams 

2. Evaluate liver and hepatic pathology 

.3. Assess renal system and hydronephrosis 

4. Identify free fluid and ascites 

5. Perform abdominal scanning protocols 

Day 1: FAST + Liver 

• FAST exam (RUQ, LUQ, pelvis) 

• Free fluid identification 

• Liver evaluation (size, echogenicity) 

• Hepatic steatosis recognition 

Day 2: Renal + Retroperitoneal 

• Kidney evaluation 

• Hydronephrosis grading 

• Aorta measurement 

• IVC assessment 

• Retroperitoneal fluid 

• 5 FAST exams

• 5 renal scans

• 5 hepatic scans 

• Direct supervision

• Image acquisition quality 

• Clinical interpretation
